TELL US ABOUT YOUR BLOG WHEN DID YOU START IT AND WHY?
I started my blog in the summer of 2010 as an outlet to be creative and have some fun with clothes hanging in my closet. Although I still showcase personal fashion, I also use it as a platform to express myself through all mediums of life. I am deeply inspired by travel, nature, fashion, beauty and lifestyle. Little did I know that this little space of the internet would bring me so many amazing opportunities, crazy adventures and new friends.
Before, the idea of becoming a full time blogger never crossed my mind. But in 2010, when I was looking for a creative outlet for myself and searched for ideas on Google, that’s when I discovered blogging. This was when itjulieann.com was formed. I realized how important creativity is to my sanity and overall emotional well-being. I live to create, and through blogging, I have an easy way to do it every single day.
Blogging allows me to write down my thoughts and express my feelings through photography, to share my art with the world and to develop the kind of creative I want to become. Blogging allowed me a safe space to experiment, to reflect, and to process my thoughts and feelings. You know, there are so many creative outlets when it comes to blogging.
I have a variety of hobbies. I play with my dogs every chance I get. I do photography, writing wattpad stories, reading English novels, watching movies and vlogging. I also love to cook instagramable and healthy foods and I also enjoy volunteer work and community activities.
I’m a fulltime blogger and influencer. During the day I shoot products, writing blog entry, promoting brands through social media or attending blogger events.
I do most of my blog writing at home… when the house is quiet.
Becoming a blogger has brought me great joy. I didn’t even know it could be a full-time job. I just loved doing it. By then, I slowly am starting to meet people around the Metro and learning about others’ creative processes and inspirations. First, it started locally. Then, I started to connect with artists and bloggers across the globe. I started seeing this woven network of people that were connecting on and then offline. These incredible people, from all walks of life – different backgrounds, different talents, and different perspectives – were collaborating and creating amazing things together. I didn’t know it would lead me to form amazing friendships, travel to new places, exclusive event invites, collaborations, become brand ambassadors and do the modeling stuff or to be interviewed on the radio and television. Cool! Right? Haha!
Usually I don’t get angry much; however when I see animals treated cruelly online and the negative news on television will set me off big time. So, I just watch a movie that puts me in a happy mood.
Because this is where I share my blogging journey and how it changed my life to all my readers.
My most popular blog post is the “REVIEW | WENSHA SPA” –
http://www.itsjulieann.com/2012/03/wensha-spa_5277.html ; where I received 188 comments and almost 50k views and still counting. I didn’t know why. Haha. My pictures back then are so low quality, and my writing skills are so poor, I want to edit my article but I don’t have time for that right now.
Huh? I didn’t know the latest trend in blogging. All I know is Video blogging is the real deal for 2020. This is because videos would capture the attention of viewers, and also be a time saver for them. And that’s the reason why I started Vlogging na din.
Create original content. Readers are not looking for something reposted that they’ve read at least 10 times with different wording. Especially active readers, they are looking for articles that provide them with unique knowledge and relevant perspective. They don’t have time for irrelevant content where they can’t find anything valuable. That’s why you should think of their needs and provide the right solution. Your content should not be compromised on any level if you want to remain an effective blogger in 2020 and for the next 10 years.
